As we are a fishmonger, you would rightly expect fresh fish. Not that frozen fish is necessarily inferior, indeed good quality frozen fish can be really tasty, but at least you will know what you are buying!
There are several other reasons why our fish and chips are special:
After plenty of tastings and research, we went for beef dripping as our cooking medium as did Rick Stein. The flavour of the chips and the batter is outstanding albeit richer than palm or vegetable oil.
We also fry in palm oil for vegetarians. Some customers prefer it. Ask for your preference.
We offer griddled fish to take home. Not everybody likes fish in batter. The same can be grilled by the chef to take home. Ever tried battered turbot? It’s truly fabulous. You have this available as well as Brill either grilled or fried. How about perfectly grilled Dover Sole?
All served with a wedge of lemon in a solid degradable cardboard box and available with homemade tartar sauce, pickled eggs and gherkins.
Pies are top notch, sourced locally and hand made with free range quality ingredients. A meal in themselves. Chose from:
