Ramsgate Fish Mongers

We sell first class quality fish and shellfish.

Within six months of opening we were awarded the 'Best Fish Retailer' at the Taste of Kent Awards.

Opening Hours

Mon to Sat 8.00am - 5.00pm

Where possible fish is bought direct from the fishing fleet here in Ramsgate. However not all species are landed in this part of the country, so we need to source from other regions to provide the range of fish to supply the shop and trade customers.

Local fish, depending on the time of year, would typically be bass, cod, Dover Soles and Skate, but frequently we get Gurnard, Plaice, Whiting and the odd Brill or Turbot….

It should of course be remembered that most fish are a wild and hunted resource and availability cannot always be guaranteed.

Plenty of lobsters and crabs come in during the summer, but these come abruptly to a halt in the autumn when the species are less active.

There is generally nothing we cannot get hold of, so fresh squid, monk fish and lemon soles from my old friend peter Grosvenor in Cornwall are normally on the slab, together with haddock from Grimsby, Scallops, Langoustines and Rope Mussels from the clean waters of Shetland. Mackerel and herrings can be from Thanet or wherever they happen to be……

We can of course prepare your fish any way you like ... and we do have our own fish smoking facilities too!

The fishmonger is open 9.00pm to 5.00pm every day except Sunday.
